FCC approved the design of a CDMA/GSM Pocket PC smartphone Samsung i830 10 march 2005, 07:15 The FCC site (the US Federal Communications Commission) has provided the info on certification of Samsung i830 design.
Samsung i830 features an original quad-band design - 800/1900 MHz CDMA and 900/1800 MHz GSM/GPRS. In fact Samsung i830 is the first Pocket PC smartphone, which functions in both networks. Under the tentative data, the smartphone is based on the design of the CDMA EV-DO model Samsung i730 and has similar specs, including built-in Wi-Fi and a 1.3-megapixel camera.
Samsung i830 is powered by Pocket PC Phone Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition and is equipped with 64 MB of RAM, SDIO slot, 2.8” QVGA (240x320) TFT screen, sliding QWERTY keyboard, stereo dynamics and Bluetooth interface. There is no info on the dimensions. Other news
